Welcome to Society

In 1830 The Philp School opened in Charlotte Street, moving into this building in 1850 and closing in 1891. The building has since been used in a number of ways, including a Masonic Hall, restaurant and now a fashionable venue to drink, dine and dance.

There are different aspects to Society. Daytime sees a relaxed and casual atmosphere - a place to unwind and relax. At night its a great destination for meeting friends and drinks. It's the weekends when the venue comes alive, with great DJ's and live entertainment, a truly unique spin on the classic party atmosphere.
